Notable Guest Quotes

“I joined the Navy, and I was in the Navy music program.”

“Since going to L.A. had always been a dream of mine and had kind of round about passed through there from time to time while I was in the Navy and I’d have time off and travel there and just try and start making connections and things for a future career hopefully, at that point, so that’s one of the reasons why I moved down to Los Angeles right after the pandemic started.”

“My music started when I was a young kid, I guess.  My dad was a music educator/special educator, and so I learned piano and singing and he played trumpet, so I learned trumpet.”

“Music has always been such a huge part of my life.”

“Everybody listens to music.  It’s part of everyday life for a numerous amount of reasons.”

“Typically, when I’m writing songs… it was always writing about my thoughts and my experience, and the shift for composing… my experience in film scoring is where we have the scene, we have the visuals, we have the script… and so we have that influence that we’re writing to support instead of writing for me.”

“That’s when I discovered my love of just simple guitar and singing.  And Joni Mitchell and Peter Gabriel were huge influences then.  John Mayer came a little bit later.”

“I think this is where my film scoring and producing-ish ear kind of came was I noticed a lot of artists sounded the same just because they had the same producers or songwriters.”

“There’s something for everyone and if you can find that part of you that enjoys it then it’s cool, it just enriches your life so much more.”

“My vocal instructor was forward thinking… and wanted me to still keep my pop voice ‘cause I’d mess around with it once in a while but wasn’t serious about it, but he’s like, ‘No, that’s the thing that’s gonna get you gigs,’ and he was absolutely right.”
