Notable Guest Quotes

(Heather) "We started writing together and singing in coffee shops and then branched out into a rock band... When 9/11 happened... I think he and I both were just, like, You gotta live your life to the fullest and we're not wanting to live with any regrets so let's just pack up and move to California and try (to) give music a go."

(Mat) "(New Orleans) is just a beautiful, colorful city with a lot of music beyond what people think.  I think they would probably think of jazz, right, is the first thing you would think of with New Orleans.  And it has that, fantastic, but there's a lot more to it."

(Mat) "I called him up, I said, 'Hey man, we moved here, I live here now.  So, whatever auditions you got, I'm down.'  He said, 'Great, well we got Kelly Osbourne on Wednesday.'  I said, 'Great, I'll be there.'  And so I went down and nailed the audition and that was it.  First show here was The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, just weeks after that."

(Heather) "She happened to be filming this little independent movie and told the director about us.  He came to a show and fell in love with us.  And that movie ended up becoming 'SAW' ... They were like, 'We love you guys.  We want to put you in one of the movies.'  So, we had a song on the soundtrack of Saw 2, the end credits up until the very end and it got booted because of money... He said, 'I owe you a favor.'  So for SAW 3... I was the first female vocalist to be featured in the SAW trilogies."

(Heather) "It all became from perseverance and just sticking around, networking with people, working hard and just being available, ya' know, always saying Yes to things - unless, obviously, you get a bad feeling from it - but if it feels right, then you do it."

(Mat) "(Los Angeles) is a town of hustlers.  You gotta hustle if you're going to make it."

(Heather) "(Rick Springfield) just asked us to open the show and we did and he loved it and, more importantly, his fans loved it... So, we've just been out with him, opening up his shows."

(Heather) "You want to rehearse, so that you have the experience and the talents to back things up.  But you also need to really be a good person.  Too often people don't realize that that goes a long way."

(Heather) "Mat and I had always said, when you sign on to become a musician you don't realize that your life is a rollercoaster."

(Heather) "When life is happy and great, that's cool.  But when you really have to go through something painful that's when you experience and you get the complexities that make you a more interesting person and a more valuable human being."
