ON THE AIR

Backing up “promoting vocal talent” is seen in the news of Now Hear This President Bruce Wawrzyniak being named as part of the broadcast talent for the inaugural season of Orlando Titans lacrosse.

Drawing upon his previous roles on television and radio, Wawrzyniak will in 2010 provide color commentary on game broadcasts for the National Lacrosse League’s first Florida-based team.

The TV games on which he will be seen will air on the Bright House Sports Network (Bright House channel 47), which reaches approximately 1.5 million homes throughout Central Florida.  For the non-televised home games, the NHT president will be the color commentator on the ESPN Radio affiliate in Orlando, 1080AM The Team, with the possibility of road games as the season unfolds.

“I am excited to be back on the air – both TV- and radio-wise – and to be involved with the Titans during their first season in Orlando,” Wawrzyniak said.  “I look forward to working with team president Steve Donner and the coaching staff as well as Bright House and The Team to contribute to the 2010 broadcasts with insight that will educate and entertain the viewing and listening audiences, respectively.”

Among other affiliations, Wawrzyniak is a member of the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.

The Titans relocated to Central Florida after having been the New York Titans the last three seasons, including 2009 when they went to the league championship game, dropping a close decision to Calgary (12-10).

The NLL is North America’s professional indoor lacrosse league, with 2010 being their 24th season.  Orlando’s home games are played at Amway Arena, the home of the NBA’s Orlando Magic.
